thank you, i'm ten years web developer engineer so i know what is
subdomain and 301 redirect ;)
But believe me, that some browsers automaticaly add www to the domains
without. Chrome knows if there is www version (if it does not exist,
it does not offer it), about 30 % of domains got only www variant
without forwarding, the amount of domains with a different content on
non-www and www variant is very low, and the propability that it does
not work in that momment you test it, so it would show you a wrong
version is also minimum, so in 30 % cases it will help you to avoid
blank page, in the other 69,99 % it will help you to quickly type
domains without www (you will not have to think about if you have
allready been there, so can type without www thanks to suggest
feature), and in 0,01% you may see a different content, just because
you type example.com, which is not working at that particular time so
you were forwarded to www.
