No, you didn't miss anything, it's exactly as you said: the last time the stable channel was updated was at the beginning of February. But you should consider that version 2 brought a lot of big changes, including the new version of the rendering engine (Webkit) and new network code. There's a lot to be tested, and the developers probably think the new version still isn't good enough for a stable release. However, until today updates were only for the dev channel, but now a beta version has just been released. This means that it is reasonable to think that a new stable release might come within some weeks. But I'm just taking a guess, I'm not a developer, so I don't know for sure.
