As now one seems to want to respond to this, I'll try to clarify just what it is that I'm asking for. Chrome's Application Shortcuts, which are useful, are similar to Mozilla Prism. They're both implementations of a SSB. But Chrome's implementation doesn't offer the desktop integration that most SSBs try to include. I'd like to have the windows I open be able to minimize to the tray, and also convey information like new emails, or new messages on social networking sites, via popup or a little number that hovers over the icon in the tray.
Another feature of Prism's that I'd love to have built in to Chrome, is the ability to make mailto links open within your desired web based mail app, like Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or Live Mail. These would basically integrate Gmail Notifier into the Chrome browser.
