I used to have that problem across Firefox and still do with Chrome.

So now i just split up each folder into sub-folders if it goes above
100.
I usually split them up into 100 links per sub-folder, and label it
with a number.
Should be much easier to implement now that the Bookmarks Manager was
added.

It isn't the best of ideas, but in about a week of using it, you learn
to memorize where all your more frequented sites are.
I tend to put all the more frequently used items at the top numbers
for ease. (in this case, i actually only put 50 items in there,
leaving room for expansion lol)

(I also do a similar idea with files on my computer, but 1000 files
instead of 100, saves so much time with Explorer, especially on older
machines.)
