Ok, now I see what you mean. It probably depends on the fact that you are trying to use English characters in a Chinese (I'm taking a guess, I'm not sure it's Chinese, sorry if I'm wrong) version of Chrome. The version I'm using is in Italian, which is a language that uses the English alphabet, and I can assure you that "xyz" is displayed correctly. You should open a new issue http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/entry
