I believe this problem is related to the following bug: Build 64-bit FFmpeg libraries for Linux http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=20948
A patch relevant to this bug was landed in revision 26630, but if I'm reading the code correctly, it only lays the groundwork for fixing this in the future. I'd star that bug and see what develops.
