I've used chrome occasionally, open a couple sites, close it, back to Firefox, or Swiftfox. I decided to give it a better run.
Here's some notes on my first 20 minutes. Maybe someone will find this helpful in some way. 1. Fast and desk space friendly. 2. No add-bookmark on right click There is a star on the URL just before the HTTP.... that's add bookmark. For ultra convenience, to avoid the 'this program does it this way and that one that way' crap, should be on the context just about everywhere. 3. Where's the bookmarks? The add bookmark button has no show bookmarks? Ummm hello? As a power user, CTRL-B was the next natural move, and I found the bookmarks.... If Chrome wants to dump itself on the average user, it should lower the bar a bit. 4. Addons fail. Invalid value for 'permissions[0]' Google'd, need to install the DEV version. What bothers me about this is that I saw nothing about this until I tried to Google it, which is not really Chrome's fault, but looking around at the 'addon' sites, I'm not finding the big bright neon link to the Chrome Dev version, tho everyone who uses addons will have to do that for now.... it's a community thing... 5. Installing Chrome Developer version. I downloaded the dev version from http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel After uninstalling the stable Chrome, IE launched! I've not seen IE on this computer in.. well not in 2009 anyway. It was probably trying to ask me why I removed Chrome. Chrome Dev installed ok. So that's my first 15 minutes with Chrome. Looking good so far, fast and simple. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Chromium Discussion mailing list: [email protected] View archives, change email options, or unsubscribe: http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
