You can do it programmatically, with the extensions system (if you are on
the Dev channel - for sure, Beta channel might work, as well - instructions
here <http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel>).
You need the "experimental" permission set within the manifest and this
command line switch -
--enable-experimental-extension-apis

The API can be accessed through chrome.experimental.history.* you can get
some help from the Developer Tools, which will show you the different
methods or auto complete them.
