Although attempts have been made many times before to fuse TV and computer, but I believe timing and technologies were never as good as with Chrome OS. As much as it is promising for Netbooks, it can very well prove its worth on future wifi enabled TVs. These TVs would create a whole new experience for the end users as we would be able to use things like never before...writing reviews simultaneously while watching our favorite soaps/flicks, checking a player's history while watching him perform live, watching youtube as seamlessly as the TV itself (I love this one)...possibilities will begin to roll.
With this kind of TV out in the market, the integration of TV with computers would be so seamless that for the first time in the life of computers, even those kind of people who would swear that have never touched a computer or they really can't handle it, would finally be using them without even noticing. Imagine, I wouldn't have to backup stuff, handle device drivers, anti-virus, anti-malware etc., keep updating the software with latest patches and upgrades..sigh...this kind of frustration, which has kept many to avoid computers was a normal routine to keep a PC up and running. With Chrome OS, in my opinion, all these frustrations would automatically go away! Just wish that somebody takes care of this new form factor and it happens before I buy my next LCD :) SR -- Chromium Discussion mailing list: [email protected] View archives, change email options, or unsubscribe: http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss
