Well, there is a Bookmark Sync feature in Chrome 4 (now in
beta<http://www.google.com/intl/en/landing/chrome/beta/>
).
They plan to add other stuff to sync and it will eventually evolve into some
sort of a browser sync.

Regarding the "quick catch" idea, you can use Google
Docs<http://docs.google.com>to edit, view or
*save* your documents in the cloud and access it from anywhere.
