One of the main aspect of Chrome I prefer, is it's clean and minimalist appearance. While extension support is great, I feel like most of the page-specific extensions (mostly browser actions) will only be used in such and such particular cases. Adding a few of them will rapidly clutter the interface; hence, I think it would not be a bad idea to prioritize extension's access to the page's specific settings menu api as a way to place and organize extensions.
