The second one is not a browser bug, but a Google Groups interface bug. When getting your message through e-mail - it is fine. My guess is that this is the way they are marking duplicated (quoted) text in messages internally for use in the Google Groups interface to hide them. <http://groups.google.com/group/Is-Something-Broken/topics>Regarding the first issue, as far as I understand - Google employees subscribe to the group with their chromium.org account and not with their google.com account, for symbolic reasons, I guess, so when they are sending replies\messages to the group through e-mail and they forget to change the "from" address to use their chromium.org account, they are not actual group subscribers and so their messages does not reach the group.
