Just for the record, you're also the one who originally said it was fine to limit them to 5mb (for LocalStorage anyhow). :-)
What kind of extra space did you have in mind? Unlimited? It's pretty late in the game to be making a decision like this for mstone-4, but it might be possible if this was considered a major issue.
