Hi guys, To clarify:
- By default, any extension uploaded to the gallery gets a new ID. - If you include a key.pem file in the zip, we use that instead. - Updates (from the edit page) always retain the ID in the gallery. Any key.pem file is discarded. More info here: http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-extensions/browse_thread/thread/defbf282d11a8cc4 Sorry if this is confusing, let me know if you have questions. -Nick On Thu, Dec 10, 2009 at 5:29 AM, Jean-Lou Dupont <[email protected]>wrote: > On Dec 10, 5:41 am, PhistucK <[email protected]> wrote: > > If it changes with every revision you upload - that is really not good. > > Are you sure you are updating the same extension and not creating new > > extension every time (if so, you should have a number of entries in the > > dashboard as the number of revisions you uploaded)? > > I only have one entry - this confusion might all be caused as a result > of the "id" field in manifest.json being disregarded by the gallery. > > > Generally, if you created an extension not through the gallery yourself > and > > have the key file (something.pem), you can call it "key.pem", put it in > the > > ZIP that you upload to the gallery and your ID will remain the same for > good. > > Is this documented?
