Ari Rabkin commented on CHUKWA-396:
-----------------------------------
I'd like to propose the following change: the start location will be zero by
default, and to start reading from offset xyz, you'd need to say @xyz at the
end of the add command. Anything before the '@' is part of the argument to the
adaptor; anything after is an offset. This will be fairly easy to code.
However, this change is BACKWARDS INCOMPATIBLE. So I'd prefer to make it sooner
rather than latter, but I do think it's worth doing.

> Currently, the add command syntax is a little yucky. In particular,
> requiring a 0 at end in the default case of "start from the beginning" is
> obnoxious and error-prone.
