In an interview broadcast on the BBC World Service on either 23rd or
24th January, well after the inauguration of President Obama, a
Washington commentator told us that the bust of Winston Churchill in
the White House has now been sent back to England. The "reason" given
was that Obama is looking forward to the 21st century, not at the
past. That's hardly convincing, and Pres. Obama is very well read in
history.

However, shorlly after the inauguration, the Press did notice that
Hilary Cliinton, in her new guise as Secretary of State, referred to
allies such as "France, Germany and Britain", putting Britain third.
Though this was in alphabetical order, the news we now have about
Churchill's bust might imply she and her boss have a more sceptical
view of Britain. The British Empire's treatment of Obama's grandfather
in Kenya cannot have helped the British cause.

Can anyone confirm the bust has gone? And if so, where in Britain has
it gone to?
Lastly, what can or should we do about it being sent back?
