The Odhams two-volume set which includes the complete text of the first three volumes can be acquired for about $50. The Aftermath runs for $50 without its original spine or $100+ depending on condition. The Unknown War doesn't sell cheaper than $100+. After you add in shipping, you're looking at about $300 for the complete text by various publishes in questionable conditions. That's why The Folio Society's introductory offer for a brand new set of The World Crisis series stuck out to me (http://www.foliosociety.com/book/9ZA6/world-crisis). You pay $19.95 for the books with the commitment to buy four of their books at regular club price. The average book on their site costs about $59.95 with the most expensive costing thousands. I sat down and picked out books I'd actually love and cherish. There are some really great books on there (e.g. My Early Life and The Face of Battle). I determined that after shipping, the whole expenditure would cost me around $224. This is still better than buying the new set outright at $270. It took some justification, but when you consider that The World Crisis is five books and I'd have to buy four more, I'm looking at paying about $25.00 for each book in this endeavor. That's the price I'd pay for most new hardback books. The only problem is getting over buying them all within a month. I took the plunge last night and my set of The World Crisis is in the mail. I have four weeks to either buy four more books or return the set for a full refund. I've got a feeling that I'll be buying the four books. I hope this helps those who, like me, have been trying to acquire the complete text of these books.
