This is FANTASTIC news for Sir Martin! He well deserves such an honor. He and I have been corresponding now for over a year, and I wrote to congratulate him. He tells me he received notice of the award while in Warsaw (he, his wife and a film crew were on a month- long "Righteous Diplomats" search, for a documentary on various diplomats who rescued Jews from Europe, just before WW2 broke out)-- via email!
Sir Martin has never been to the Kennedy Center before; I have myself, so I told him he was in for a treat! How I wish I could see him receive this award....<SIGH>. Thank you for sharing this article, Suzanne!
