I agree with Sandy, although it is not really a biography per se.  I find that
Keegan does not present a balanced picture of his life as it concentrates so
much on WWII.  WSC's EMy Early Life is replete with a lot of puffery and
probably some notable inaccuracies or at least shading of the truth.  A great
read nonetheless.  I prefer either of Prof. Best's books on Churchill which are
not too long.

One of my favorite Churchill books of all
time is Martin Gilbert’s In Search of
Churchill

It is a well written, fast paced book that
I have read and read again.

Recommendation

John Keegan's biography
on Churchill is a good read. It's just over 200 pages and is a fast read.
Keegan (British) starts out with his discovery in 1950's that Americans found
Churchill's words inspiring. This ultimately led him to write the book. I've
given it as a gift to several people.

We read books about manly men doing manly things in a manly
way.  I want to feature a book about Churchill for our meeting in June.

The book has to be a moderate length read with action and it
has to be available through major book sellers.

I will appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you,
