So what is Buchanan's excuse? His latest is an essay blaming Poland for the
war and all but calling Hitler a pacifist.

I recently relocated to London (though I had to come to Chicago today so I
missed the debate) and the comemorations of the war are quite stirring. And
most in London have been unofficial.

These 215 people must be on some kind of medication.

I suppose this comes under the context of all publicity is good publicity!
As to the 215 people - perhaps relatives of Buchanan, Knight , Stone
and......?
 Such entertainment!

Paul Courtenay is just back from the great debate
 (www.intelligencesquared.com
<parse.pl?redirect=http://www.intelligencesquared.com> ):

Resolved, that CHURCHILL WAS MORE A LIABILITY THAN AN ASSET TO THE
 FREE WORLD.

Proposing were Pat Buchanan, Nigel Knight and Norman Stone. Opposing
were Antony Beevor, Richard Overy and Andrew Roberts. Paul reports the
 good news.

 Against 1,194
 For 181
 Don't know 34

Who were those 215 people, anyway?
