Wonderful clip.
Thanks to yesterday's Tube strike I had to take a bus to work. Caught in
traffic a block from St. Paul's I jumped off and started to walk. At St.
Paul's yesterday, many of the few remaining few were attending a commemoration
service. Outside the cathedral was an old Spitfire, guarded by a young soldier
wearing a 1940 RAF uniform.
The reason for yesterday's remembrances of the Blitz is that 7 September was
the day the Luftwaffe turned its attention from the airfields to the cities.
The east end was plastered that night.

As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of The London Blitz today I thought I
would post a link to an excerpt from Churchill's address to the London County
Council, July 14, 1941 (You Do Your Worst). Containing the stirring words
"London is so vast...she is like a prehistoric monster in to whose armoured
hide showers of arrows can be shot in vain", this speech is, in my humble
opinion, Churchill's greatest London speech and a fitting tribute to the Blitz
