The author of this new book, David Roll, is a longtime friend of The
Churchill Centre. I met with him last week and have provided his contact
information to our Chapters around the country as a possible speaker for
events
and conferences.

Subject: Re: [ChurchillChat] NEW Book The Hopkins Touch
I am looking forward to this book -- I've written fictionally about this
episode in history with those individuals as characters -- but it will have
to go a considerable distance to exceed Robert Sherwood's eye-witness
account Roosevelt and Hopkins: An Intimate History (Harper, 1948, 979 pp.),
which won the Pulitzer Prize for biography in 1949. Also valuable if thin at
91 pp. is Matthew B. Wills' Wartime Missions of Harry L. Hopkins (Pentland
Press, 1996).

Churchill Fans

Hello, I just purchased a new book titled The Hopkins Touch: Harry Hopkins
and the Forging of the Alliance to Defeat Hitler by David Roll (Oxford
Press, $34.95).

Pages of references to Winston Churchill throughout this tome. Wonderfully
written. BookTV has a book chat by the author on their website. Recommend
that he be a speaker at an upcoming Churchill event.

This is the first major biography of FDR's inside conduit to Churchill !
