Thanks so much for the recommendation. I purchased it as soon as it came out as 
I had read the previous two books of the trilogy, An Army at Dawn and the Day 
of Battle. 

Both books are excellent reads and give an incredible view of the the war in 
North Africa and the Sicilian and often neglected Italian campaigns (especially 
considering WSC's views on the "soft underbelly of Europe". Atkinson provides 
views from the foxholes all the way to high command decisions with a 
description of battle that shows rare insight and does honor to the 
participants. I look forward to reading The Guns of Last Light.
