I will expand on some of the gems in Ron's world-class collection today or tomorrow on my website, richardlangworth.name. Hillsdale, Mich. – Hillsdale College announces its acquisition of a collection of writings by Sir Winston Churchill. The collection contains almost 2,000 individual items within several categories: forewords, prefaces, and introductions written by Churchill; periodical works; works containing Churchill’s speeches; speeches reported in periodicals; letters, memoranda, and statements; and letters to the editor. This material was collected over 50 years by Ronald I. Cohen, author of the *Bibliography of the Writings of Sir Winston Churchill*, a three-volume definitive work listing and describing each edition, translation, and imprint of everything published by Winston Churchill. “Assembling such a collection is the work of a lifetime,” said Richard Langworth, senior fellow for the Churchill Project at Hillsdale College. “It could not be assembled today because the sources have dwindled, and some of it is one-of-a-kind. It is a treasure trove for researchers, students, and scholars.” Hillsdale College also has a temporary, exclusive purchase option for Ronald Cohen’s collection of books written by Winston Churchill. They number over 1,200 volumes, and 640 are first editions in their country of publication. Seven books were signed by Churchill. As a whole, it is the most comprehensive Churchill library worldwide. Hillsdale College launched the Churchill Project to propagate a right understanding of Churchill’s record and to better understand his contributions to statecraft and leadership. The project seeks to promote Churchill scholarship through national conferences, scholarships, and other resources.
