I don't remember seeing the original problem report that
you are referring to here!

What type of client you're running XBMC on? Is it the same Vista
system that runs MediaPortal?

Do you see any errors in system log (/var/adm/messages) when failure
happens?

Does it fail if you just copy the same file?

An output of the following script would be helpful to start with:

http://opensolaris.org/os/project/cifs-server/files/cifs-gendiag

Please run it on your Solaris box and post the output.
