I have a question. First, I'll explain how I have my environment setup, then
what I think is going on and I'm wondering if someone can chime in a let me
know what they think.

I setup a OpenSolaris 101a box, created a user called "John".
I then setup a ZFS CIFS share at /ztank/home/John.
I set John as the owner, root as the group of this dir and set the perms to 750

Now, I have a Mac that already had a user named "John" on it, with the same
password as the "John" user on the OpenSolaris box. When I connect the the CIFS
share from my Mac, I authenticate as "John" and the share mounts fine. However,
I do not have write permissions. I would assume that when I connect to the CIFS
server and authenticate as a local user, that I would then "be" that user on
the server, I am John on the OpenSolaris server; but that does not appear to be
the case. Is my UID from my Mac being used when I mount the share and not
John's UID on the OpenSolaris box? Is there a way, perhaps using idmap, that I
can see how my mac client has authenticated to the OpenSolaris server? Any help
would be much appreciated.
