No, you can't cross into separate filesystems with CIFS. While the ZFS path structure makes them look like folders, they're actually very different things, and CIFS can't treat them the same way.
There was a previous post on the forum asking this, with a much more detailed reply from Sun, but I can't find the link I'm afraid.
