I noticed that if i try to delete a folder containing a thumbs.db file from a vista SP1 client to a open solaris nevada (101b, but also earlier) CIFS share (mapped as a network drive Z on windows) sometimes fails. It simply cannot delete the file. However, if I tell it to skip it, it will delete all the other files, after which a second attempt to delete succeeds (presumably because windows itself deletes the thumbs.db files as the files they are supposed to contain thumbs of are gone, but it is way too quick. I will try to catch if it really happens that way or not)
I am not certain if this is a windows thing, or a cifs thing. I am wondering if it might be related to network speed. anyways, if anyone else has seen this issue or knows anymore about it please reply, I wish to figure out exactly what is going on so I can know if it is really a cifs bug or not. _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
