I have the exact same problem, at a rate of about 20MB per day. I'm using OpenSolaris 2009.06, and smb is in workgroup mode using local accounts only (no AD, Kerberos or NIS authentication). All my shares are configured using the sharesmb option in ZFS. I tried running a cron job to restart the idmapd process weekly, but "svcadm disable smb/server idmap" seems to make the smb kernel extension hang, and I need to reboot (using "reboot", since "shutdown -i 6" hangs). This is driving me nuts... Now I have to consider replacing the Solaris CIFS service with Samba, hoping that makes a difference. Right now, I'm stuck mounting my shares on a Linux machine using NFS just to re-share them with Samba... Tell me if I can do anything to help. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
