Good day all--

I've been using opensolaris as a CIFS client to a (reasonably current) Windows
server machine exporting a share with significant numbers of directory entries.
I've noticed that it works well if the number of entries returned by
readdir/getdents64 fits in (what appears to be) 2 pages. If there are a large
number of directory entries (I'll bet a small number of entries with long names
would put me in the same boat), I only see a fraction of the available entries.
It's consistently reproducible whether or not the directory entries are other
directories or regular files.

Searching the bug database, I only see 6839110 as a possible fit but I don't
see 'ls' hang so it's not immediately clear that it's the same bug. Likewise,
I did a quick trawl through the mailing list and didn't see anything explicit.
Finally, I didn't check the previous release so I don't know if this is a
regression or not.

Thoughts on a workaround would be helpful. I've been looking for a tuning
parameter that I could set ridiculously high to minimize the bug's impact but I
don't see anything. Likewise, let me know if someone wants more information.

Thanks!

--Brad (I also noticed 6587713 which I'm seeing as well and working around
manually)
