Thanks for your answer Jordan ... I was afraid of that. But i hope for another solution ... ;) The origin Samba has also problems with trusted domains, so i knew that this problem is not easy to solve.
But ... Looking at a native pure windows network with ADS or also a Novell-eDirectory showing the posibility of using resources in a "context" were usernames or unix uidNumbers must not be unique in each context. But for example, in an ADS forest the SID must be unique ... each "domain" has an unique part in the SID ... And Samba uses a combination of domain and user ( for example DOMAIN+USER ) to distinguish user in such cases ... And creating an user smith in a windows "subdomain" causes none error or warning if another user named smith existing in the parent domain ... In our case the fileserver based on the release 2009_6 (b111b) and i am using the sfw samba version 3.0.34 to solve (workaround)these problem ... so i can wait ;) But i am looking hopefull for the next developments -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ cifs-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/cifs-discuss
