I'm new to opensolaris and I'm still trying to get a handle on things. I am
trying to setup a fileserver.

I enabled smb sharing via zfs, joined workgroup, etc etc, and...

svcadm enable -r smb/server

everything works fine for a while, then I can't access my shares from anywhere.
(I have a win7 box and snow leopard laptop).

I try to restart the process with...

svcadm restart smb/server

which doesnt seem to have an effect, so I run

svcadm disable smb/server

but when I run ps aux | grep smb, I still see:
~# ps aux | grep smb
root 2774 0.0 0.1 4104 1140 pts/2 S 00:51:09 0:00 grep smb
root 437 0.0 0.710884 7052 ? S Sep 23 13:14 /usr/lib/smbsrv/sm

and when i use the -s flag with svcadm disable, it just hangs forever.

I also tried kill -9 437 (to kill the process) but that doesn't have any effect.

cat /var/svc/log/network-smb-server\:default.log shows..

The only way I can fix the problem is by rebooting.

I've been running a samba server on ubuntu linux with no stability issues. Am
I misconfiguring something or doing something wrong?
