There is no such utilities yet or there won't be any in near future? smbstatus from Samba comes very handy when I must see who has opened particular file or if I want to see if anybody have some open files at all (for example to be shure that I can restart service/server).
Currently I can see indication about who has opened the file (when I try to open the same file), but I'm not happy with it. I'm testing with Open office and the name shown is the one that is provided in open office as user name and surname. So in scenario if somebody on host1 changes Open Office options for user name and surname to "HaHa", "Try to find me" then on another machine host2 user will have absolutly no idea who has opened the file. 2009/10/7 Afshin Salek <[email protected]> > We don't have any local utilities.
