I've got a snv_125 host running the cifs server that doesn't appear to
be joining the workgroup or netbios group properly. I've run 'smbadm
join -w' to join the workgroup, guestok=true, the pam module has been
configured and password for users set.
This is mostly a problem when trying to browse shares from my Popcorn
Hour movie player. When entering a share path directly, or browsing to
it, the device gives a "No Workgroup Found" error.
There are a few other Samba servers on the network, one of which is
acting as the master browser.
Entering the share's path on a windows host works fine.
The OpenSolaris host is 'basestar'.
One of the linux hosts running Samba is 'caliban'.
$ host basestar
basestar.domain.com has address 192.168.1.198
$ smbutil status basestar
smbutil: unable to get status from basestar: nberr = host not found
$ smbadm list

$ smbutil status caliban
