Hi Matthieu:

In the context of MS-ADTS, the general convention is that the term “parent”
means the immediate parent and term “ancestor” means immediate parent as well
as indirect parents.

The term parent in the text from section 3.1.1.5.2 that you inquired about
adheres to the above definition.

Please let me know if it answers your question. If it does, I’ll consider this
issue resolved.

Subject: clarification about paragraph 3.1.1.5.2.4 in MS-ADTS

Hello

Paragraph 3.1.1.5.2.4 says:
" siteLink, siteLinkBridge, nTDSConnection objects, and any object whose parent
is a site or subnet object: FLAG_CONFIG_ALLOW_RENAME."

When you use the term parent do you mean direct parent or any parent at any
level, that is to say if CN=mysite,CN=configuration,DC=domain,DC=tld
has an object class of "site" is
CN=foo,CN=subsite,CN=mysite,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=tld also concerned by
this rule or just the direct childs ?

Regards.

Matthieu.
