Succession in-fighting Top TTP commanders killed: Betani Confirms Baitullah among 40 dead in drone strikes Islamabad-Pro-government and anti-Taliban commander, Haji Turkistan Betani has claimed that Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud and at least 40 of his men have been killed in a US drone strike at his home. "He has been killed along with his 40 to 45 men," Betani told a private TV channel that the 35-year old militant commander having $5 million bounty on his head, has been buried inside his home. He confirmed that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Hakimullah Mehsud and another Taliban leader Wali-ur-Rehman have been killed in an armed clash erupted during the Tehreek's Shura meeting. Baitullah Mehsud was reportedly killed alongwith his second wife on Tuesday (August 04) when a missile fired by a US drone aircraft hit his father-in-law's house. The death of Baitullah remains mystery until a top TTP commander, confirms or denies. So far, the confirmation of Mehsud's death comes either from official or rival Taliban commanders. Betani also confirmed the firing incident during TTP Shura meeting on Saturday, which reportedly killed dozens of people including top militant commanders. "Hakimullah Mehsud, Wali ur Rehman and another commander were killed," he said 21 others were also killed in the clash that erupted during the Shura meeting, which was reportedly called for nominating new TTP chief. Meanwhile, reports also said that Qari Hussain, militant commander known for training suicide bombers, was killed or injured in the same clash. When asked, who will be next TTP chief, Betani said he would be the next commadner. "Inshahallah, Inshahallah, Turkistan will be the new Taliban commander. Baitullah group is finished," he said. Betani said the recent reported killing of TTP top commanders was a big blow for the Tehrik and they would not be able to rise again. "Baitullah has inflicted a major damage to the country and his killing is good news for Pakistan," he said. About burial of Mehsud, Turkistan said he was buried at his home and "His men are controlling security in the area. No one can go there."-INP
