PDI-P will not invite Yudhoyono to congress Hans David Tampubolon , The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 03/29/2010 4:28 PM | National The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) says it will invite the nation's top political figures to the party's upcoming congress in Bali, with the exception of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his ministers. "We will not invite anyone from the government because we do not want our congress to be interfered with," PDI-P congress steering committee chairman Tjahjo Kumolo said during a media gathering at Hotel Sultan in Jakarta on Monday. "We also do not want to disturb the President because he has so many more important matters to look after," he added. The congress is scheduled to take place from April 6 to April 9. Among those who have been invited are leaders of the House of Representatives, House of Regional Representatives (DPD) chairman and his deputies, along with former vice presidents Hamzah Haz and Jusuf Kalla, said Tjahjo.
