The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) says it will invite the
nation's top political figures to the party's upcoming congress in Bali, with
the exception of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his ministers.

"We will not invite anyone from the government because we do not want our
congress to be interfered with," PDI-P congress steering committee chairman
Tjahjo Kumolo said during a media gathering at Hotel Sultan in Jakarta on
Monday.

"We also do not want to disturb the President because he has so many more
important matters to look after," he added.

The congress is scheduled to take place from April 6 to April 9.

Among those who have been invited are leaders of the House of Representatives,
House of Regional Representatives (DPD) chairman and his deputies, along with
former vice presidents Hamzah Haz and Jusuf Kalla, said Tjahjo.
