I'm surprised it is not supported yet. It shouldn't be too difficult to add in principle, probably just a matter of detecting the dash, reading from stdin, writing to a temporary file, and then continuing the rest of the cilly process as usual. Unfortunately cilly is written in perl, which is mostly a foreign language to me. I would be glad to integrate any patch fixing the issue, of course.
