If you paste something, while the In/Out points ([/]) are set, then the
space between In/Out points is overwritten. As after Cut the In/Out points
are not automatically cleared, they stay somewhere, which leads to

Therefore, I personally always try to take care first to clear all the
In/Out points, then paste, without overwriting, only then cut what is
definitely not needed anymore.

I reason I ask is lower thirds, titles, which I usually do totally out of sequence. With some animations it is just stupid that everything moves.
