My cinelerra 2.0 doesn't have this render option. I have used the rpm
for FC4 x86_64 to install. Will I need to compile the source to get it?
Yes. The version you installed is likely the heroine version of cinelerra.
This list is primarily focussed on the cinelerra-CV (i.e. the
community version of cinelerra) that is downloaded via svn.
The CV has a number of features that the official version doesn't
have. In terms of stability, unlike other programs, the release that
heroine does, I would not describe as a "Stable" release. (There are
often many new features, with annoyances, and bugs.) Rather, I
personally see the CV as the communities attempt to stabalise the
heroine release, and also to add enhancement in a community fashion,
(whist ensuring that we can merge with heroine's new releases).

Thanks Pierre - It is good to finally come across a simple description
of the differences between the versions.
I will 'bite-the-bullet' and try to get the svn version going. I need
the stability I need the bugfixes all you guys are busy developing and I
would like to start looking at the code myself.
Just to get the subversion packages installed yum is demanding 43mb of
updates so this will take a while (on good old fashioned dial-up).
thanks again - hope the heat is not too much in Adelaide
