Good Morning;

I resent the message without the attachment after getting the notice from the list-server. I didn't think the screen shot was unnecessarily big, but I did modify my behavior after getting that message. I had to leave work yesterday, and didn't have a chance to reply to your request for more information about what may have changed. As a matter of fact, I don't know what has changed or what packages I could have installed that are causing my problem, or I would uninstall them. I have just started setting up this system, so I had loaded several pieces of software, but did not notice that Cinelerra stopped working after any single one. I have reinstalled it from the repository instead of using it from the rpm as before (It has a different splash screen). I have tried changing the ffmpeg versions and the different packages related to the DivX codec to no avail. It seems to be unable to load the codec for sound for some DivX files, but I haven't had any time this morning to dig into it any further. I will try to post more information when I find it. Does Cinelerra write any logs about problems it has when opening a file, codec, or such that I could parse?

Thanks,

Billy

PLEASE do not send unnecessarily big attachments!

again, you haven't answered the question, what were the changes to the
system from point in time it did work to point in time it didn't
anymore.

When checking in Adept, I have the following
packages installed.
alsa-base
alsa-oss
alsa-source
alsa-utils

I use Alsa for a program called amorak,
so I assume that means I have it, and I found
the following while doing a search.

/proc/asound
/etc/esound
/usr/lib/esound

I don't know how else to see if the asound server
is running, I did not see it when I did a ps -A | grep sound.

When I ran "sudo /usr/bin/cinelerra root" I get the same results during
playback.

I am attaching a .png file with a screen shot of my playback to
see if any settings there jump out at anyone.

Thanks,

Billy
