For the record, this is the basic process I use for making dvds with Quicktime DV:

http://thebeever.com/pages/index.php?page_id=12&Article_Id=26

There's a script partway down that takes the quicktime dv file and encodes it as mpeg2 for dvdauthor. The options probably aren't the best (tried to keep it simple for the howto), but y'all obviously have your preferences ...

As for raw dv rendering ... I won't have my computer back until the weekend, so it will be until then before I can fix the audio sync issue that someone mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

dunno, I never use it

I worked several hundred of hours on my project, and I can't find any
way to export it to mpeg2 format which could be used by dvdauthor.

Not sure what your problem is here! An outline of your complete workflow, (including every command used would help).

I exported as YUV4MPEG stream, used mpeg2enc to encode to mpeg2, used
mplex and so on. And what I get is a jerky video which is simply
horrible.

What do you mean by jerky? Is this on a DVD player / mplayer / xine ... Jerky could be "skipped frames" (I haven't seen) or "incorrect interlacing order". Try ensuring that the format of the project is set to "bottom field first" in the Format dialogue box.

I really think there is a serious problem with export formats with
Cinelerra. Is it REALLY possible to build a video for DVD with
Cinelerra? I just hope I did not lost my time... :-/

I have done a fair few DVD's, it is possible...

Pierre
