Done... mark, regards debugging, I don't think that's a big argument against smaller lines.  If debugging, and skips or performs the "continue" then I didn't think it was that much more more informative to know which condition performed what.  Thus, in commiting the patch, I have shortened it, as I proposed... If any one majorly objects I can revert it to the original patch. BTW: what program does one use to be able to step through c code??  (I usually just shove printf's all over the place) Pierre
