I must confess I were only vaguely aware of OpenEXR. Didn't know it is
really open source! Looks promising.
Of course my fist thought is: on long term, cinelerra should support such
a format in some way, as cinelerra is obviousely not targeted at home
video makers :-;

We are looking at a archieval format as well (I can't imagine to work as
much for a project and then the end result should be /only/ a lossy
compressed and degraded MPEG...).
