OK, thanks everybody for your help! I've got already all setup and a working cinelerra is ready for our next release!

Download the community version as per http://cvs.cinelerra.org/svnusage.html
which is probably what you are looking for. It uses auto* tools build system 
and uses the libraries provided by the system instead of its own copies.
