Completely off topic, but I've actually been thinking about seeing if I could make the button animated. I was of the idea that buttons are actually subtitles with button regions defined for them (according to the xml description at http://dvdauthor.sourceforge.net/doc/spumux.html).

Given that subtitles change with time (given the start time and end time), it would seem possible to possibly define buttons that change with time.

I'm not sure if it works or not, and how cross-player compatible it would be... If it worked I also think it would look pretty crap unless the highlight layer moved at a

Isn't the button regions defined as rectangles
You can do it manually, if you read up and learn how animated buttons
actually are made. Hint: They are not really animated buttons, but
video clips where the "background" does not move, only the button
regions. When you highlight a "button", the player jumps to another
menu video where the area/button you just highlighted moves.

Lastly: DON'T use raw DV with cinelerra! It is severely buggy.
Use AVI or Quicktime.
