After checking the mailing list, I see that the Jerome Cornet's chromakey-hsv
plugin seems to have addressed all the issues I raised with the chromakey
plugin. That, along with Adam's comments about chromakey limitations with 8-bit
formats lead me to believe there's no need to develop this patch further.
