Hyper threading is not real multicore ... trying to move a lot of data concurently through both virtual processors at the same time might clobber cache and more...
HOWEVER my mesurement on the Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz with HT, encoding DV video into theora, while downsizing it and applying a visual overlay showed considerable performance improvement when "use only one processor" was _not_ selected... bye andraz On čet, 2006-06-22 at 18:15 +0000, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Brendan, > Why is that? > scott > > -------------- Original message -------------- > From: Brendan Conoboy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > Kevin Brosius wrote: > > > Have you tried cinelerra on this system?
