Hyper threading is not real multicore ...

trying to move a lot of data concurently through both virtual processors
at the same time might clobber cache and more...

HOWEVER 

my mesurement on the Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz with HT, encoding DV video
into theora, while downsizing it and applying a visual overlay showed
considerable performance improvement when "use only one processor" was
_not_ selected...
