Along that note, another rant: A lot of the new GUI's when you try to
eject a device that is being used by a program just say "cannot eject, a
program is using it"  I would have thought a grep through lsof could
actually advise the user what programs where using the device...  Though
I know here's not the place to raise that issue.

 Not _that_ particular issue, but it is a good example of what we would
like Cinelerra to do, if it was possible.  For example, tell the user:
"I can not use Xv to display video
 The program (name, pid) is using it.
 Stop that program, or change the display mode in Preferences|Playback"

Or if we really want to serve the alternatives on a silver platter,
provide two buttons:

 [kill (program)]  [switch to X11]

While we're at it, we could use a "kill artsd" button, too... ;-)
