Hey James,
what OS are you using? I remember having a similar problem with
FC5/libdv-0.104, using the CVS version of libdv helped me... Maybe give
it a try?
I just gave this a go with the CVS version of libdv. No go :( I get
exactly the same crash. Does anybody else have the same problem?
I solved the problem! :) Apparently, the x86 assembly optimizations are
needed in order to keep it form crashing Cinelerra when rendering DV
video. I was compiling libdv (from CVS) using the --disable-asm
configure option, and I guess that's why it was failing (my OS must have
turned off the asm optimizations by default when compiling and
installing the package).
If anybody has any problems with Cinelerra crashing when rendering DV in
the future, make sure libdv is compiled with the configure option
--enable-asm explicitly.
